The RNG

The Random Number Generator (a.k.a. the Dark Lady, a.k.a. the RNG) is the system that Star Pirates uses to randomly choose outcomes to various events. The RNG is often referred to as a conscious entity or even a goddess, because she frequently shows favor and disfavor on certain pirates.
