That's the Signal Scrambler Circuit. When slotted into your ship, the SSC will confound your opponents, by scrambling their sensors, when they seek out your ship.

This is a Military Grade device, and is Very Rare to find. These are a preferred tool for wartime attacks, raiders trying to throw their victims off their scent, and others, who seek a little "extra" privacy.

The effects of an SSC are similar to, but not exactly the same, as being cloaked.
