Officers are things that people in Star Pirates can get by using Salvage forays. Officers take 10% of a Pirate's experience and cargo. As Officers level, they provide new benefits. The highest level officers currently in use are listed in the Officers Hall Of Fame.

Although an Officer offers many benefits, nothing comes for free. They are pirates like any other present-day space farer and are always looking out for themselves. They may leave you at any time if they think there are better opportunities elsewhere. They will demand a 10% cut of your cargo and experience and do not work well with others. You will not be able to convince two officers to work for you at the same time.

Types of Officers

Shield Technician

Default Name: Shields

Description:

Increase shields by <2xlevel>%

Additionally increases shields vs. NPCs by <level>%

Reduce bomb misfire chance by 10.

Sample Meetup Text: Reserved and suspiciously quiet, the slender Shield Technician nods knowingly at you. As eyes dart around seeking out possible danger, the technician softly says "You can never be too careful. Lots of dangers in space. Need someone to watch your back?"

Expert Technician

Default Name: Tech

Description:

Increase shields and weapons by 10% in the belts only (i.e. vs. NPCs)

Odds of salvage foray success increased by <level>%

Engines increased by <level>%

Surprise damage increased by <level>

Chance to discover planted bomb doubled.


Gunnery Technician

Default Name: Trigger

Description:

CRITICAL HIT chance of level/2% (max: 20%): CRITICAL DAMAGE of 1 to <level>

Increase enemy malfunction by <level>%

Increase weapons <level>%

Engineer

Default Name: Sparky

Description:

Chance of malfunction decreased by <level/2>%

MINIMUM DAMAGE increased by <level/4>

Hull Points increased by <level*6>
